CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP NEWS

MADIBUZ AND UJ APPEAR SET FOR FINAL APPEARANCE

The Mecer NMMU Madibaz , or the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University  (NMMU) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ) both remained unbeaten on the fourth day of the 2011 Cricket South Africa (CSA)National Cricket Club Championships on Thursday.

Both now appear to have secured a berth in the final at Supersport Park Stadium on Saturday.  Madibaz lead Section One with 17 points, including a bonus point, while UJ, playing in Section Two have three bonus points for a total of 19.

ARONSTAM LEADS TUKS TO VICTORY
WEDNESDAY, 20 September 2011

Maurice Aronstam led Assupol Tuks C.C. to a bonus point 108-run victory over Free State’s ABSA Central University of Technology when he scored 107 runs from 183 balls on day two of the National Club Championships in Pretoria on Tuesday.
This was Tuks’ first victory of the tournament.

EXCITEMENT BUILDS FOR 2011 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
FRIDAY, 16 September 2011

Last year’s losing finalists, TIB Crusaders Cricket Club, will be looking to go the distance at the 2011 National Club Championships starting in Pretoria on Monday. Twelve teams will be in the running for the 24th annual trophy, as one of the most traditional cricket weeks kick-starts a bumper cricket season.
