Pitch Report - Issue 23 April 2013

CEO's Message

The curtain has come down on another season with mixed fortunes for the Sunfoil Dolphins.

- Finishing 3rd in the Sunfoil Series 4 day competition was an improvement on previous seasons.
- But 5th place finishes in both the T20 and 50 overs was less than satisfactory and well below our expectations.

Serious improvement in performance will be required for the new season. Morne Van Wyk’s acquisition is an important cog in the improvement process as he brings experience of winning and leadership qualities to the team. Positively and pleasing this season has
been the representation of Sunfoil Dolphin players in all the Proteas representative teams:

Proteas
Hashim Amla, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Kyle Abbott& David Miller

SA ‘A’
Kyle Abbott, David Miller, Craig Alexander & Vaughn Van Jaarsveld

SA Invitational XI
Kyle Abbott, Craig Alexander, Vaughn Van Jaarsveld, Cody Chetty & Jonathan Vandiar

SA Emerging
Khaya Zondo, Cameron Delport & Keshav Maharaj

SA U19
Craig Kirsten, Daryn Dupavillon, Greg Oldfield & Tsepho Moreki

SA Schools
Craig Kirsten, Daryn Dupavillon, Greg Oldfield

Proteas Women
Trisha Chetty, Dinesha Devnarain & Chloe Tyron

This representation in the different teams auges well for the future, and is indicative of the talent available.

The club season has concluded and we congratulate the winners of the different leagues and competitions:

50 Overs Challenge
Premier League – Crusaders
Challenge League Stream 2 - Simplex RHCSC

35 Overs Challenge
Women’s League – Simplex RHCSC

T20
Premier League – Chatsworth Sporting
Challenge League - UKZN
Women’s League – Simplex RHCSC

Good luck to HollywoodBets.Net Crusaders at the National Club Champs!

Jay, Ritesh and I had the honour of addressing assembly at Westville Boys High School and presenting them with a cheque for R66 000.
We appreciate this privilege and congratulate Westville Boys on winning the franchise final against Hilton off the very last ball. It was quite a final!

Our congratulations to David Miller (ex-Maritzburg College) and Cameron Delport (ex-Westville Boys) on their excellent performances for the Kings XI Punjab (IPL) and SA Emerging team respectfully. Both have produced consistent match winning
performances in their last few games. It is our belief that these performances will serve as building blocks of confidence for the new season with the Sunfoil Dolphins.

Finally, a massive thank you to all the fans who continue to support the Sunfoil Dolphins and KZN Cricket through thick and thin, our players, volunteers, administrators, educators, coaches, umpires, scorers and staff members for sustaining and growing cricket
for another season.

We are grateful and appreciative.

Until next month,
Jesse Chellan
CEO
